Call for projects for the training of future teachers:

Because they are Armenian. Because they are different. Because I am the "Other".

1. Seminary for the students of Helha de Loverval:

​

Based on Pinar Selek’s oral and written testimony which exposes the problem of minorities and less able people in Turkey and more specifically the Armenian issue, Benedicte Monnoye tried to lead the students in a thought group on the mechanisms of indoctrination through theatre-action exercises.

The students were requested to ask themselves the following questions :

Are we subject to indoctrination on a daily basis?  How can we act to counter endoctrination on a daily basis in order to avoid things getting out of hand?  How can we develop our critical thinking skills through the study of sources and not just through what is told through the media?  How can we, after having been faced with historic direct evidence, learn to stay open-minded towards others?

Throughout the seminary the studenrts discovered and experimented with techniques and tools which enabeld them to break down and understand the mechanisms of indoctrination and stereotypes.

2. Conference at the Boghossian Foundation:

Barbarities in the past, barbarities in the present, barbarities in the future. The eternal restarting?

Thursday March 24, 2016 at 7 p.m.

The objective of this conference and debate was to enable the participants to “analyse the wounds of our society in order to be able to heal them” (Pinar Selek) through a discussion with several different members of society : a sociologist, a writer, a journalist and a barrister.
